In week 3 week discussed iconography, myth, taboos and their meaning in different societies across the globe. It’s amazing to know in some countries few things that are acceptable in some societies they are not allowed and at times could carry some degree of punishment to the offender.

Myself and Brian worked as a group to discuss this topic. Brian talked about “the tooth fairy” as a fairy tales, he also gave us an insight on how it all started. He also explained the “The Caduceus symbols” which represents medicine and its origin, while I talked about taboo with reference to “homosexuality” and how it is totally forbidden in most African countries not because they are not aware of changes in the world we live in now but because culturally its forbidden.

In most African countries they frown at this act and anybody caught could face imprisonment or even execution.
